I was pleased to welcome Jason Cobb to the Mayor’s Parlour at Lambeth Town Hall.
Listen to ‘Cathching up with the twittering Mayor of Lambeth’
I had only previously talked to Jason via Twitter so was good to meet him in person. Jason is using Audioboo to record short (up to 5 minute) snipets. Now I’ve seen how easy it is you can be sure to see some more Audioboo’s here soon.
The beauty of Audioboo is that Jason was able to record then make live our interview in minutes. Jason recorded the interview on his iPhone via a special (and free) application, which the uploaded the recording together with a posting on Twitter all at the click of a button.

The Mayor of Lambeth meets with Jason Cobb
You can find Jason on-line at his blog and Twitter.
There is a great blogging community growing in Lambeth and as always I was extremely pleased t0 spend time talking about my role as Mayor of Lambeth and the work I will be doing this year.
Through social websites such as Audioboo anyone can become a broadcaster giving new freedoms to anyone wishing to broadcast the subjects they are interested in. These sites can also give direction to traditional media showing what subjects local people are interested in.
I hope you will enjoy the interview.

Who are they? And how long have they been there?
I don’t recall ever seeing them in the Mayor’s Parlour or elsewhere in the Town Hall in some twenty years of intermittent visits to the building.
Perhaps a video guided tour of the mayor’s parlour on YouTube is called for?

Southwark Council has a feed which is a little more one-way, but it was used to disseminate news in the wake of the recent fire tragedy in Camberwell. But it’s Lambeth that’s used the technology to most eye-catching effect, with Twittering mayor Christopher Wellbelove keeping people up to date on where their chains of office have got to. [...]
