The Rhodesia Road play area was once neglected and disused, now there is a refurbished play area and multi use sports area following a long campaing by residents of the Grantham Road Estate which consists of three tower blocks Beckett, Pinter and Arden houses.

I was pleased to be asked along by Councillor Pete Robbins to officially open the play and sports area. It was a great chance to meet some of the residents, many who had lived there for 40 years since it was first built.
I gave special thanks to Joyce Hooper and members of the Grantham Road Residents Association who had worked hard to lobby for the funding neccessary to refurbish the play and sports areas.
