Hundreds of enthusiastic children greeted me at the Whippersnapper Swimming Gala at the Brockwell Park Lido.

Whippersnappers, who organised the gala, were founded in 1994 when Caroline Burghard a professional actress; a mime artist teamed up with Kirk Service an established R&B and Reggae artist. For the past 12 years the company has been based in The Brockwell Lido building in Brockwell Park, Brixton.

This was the second year of the swimming gala and it was clear that the children really could not wait to get started whilst the speeches were made. Once over they quickly moved to their spaces eager to start their races and when I asked who was going to win virtually every hand went up.
A great event and as ever a please to be in the newly refurbished Brockwell Lido building which is simply amazing.
