I was visiting Lambeth’s primary pupil referral unit in Kennington for their student awards ceremony.

It was an excellent event where the children demonstrated how hugely talented they are. They also showed what a huge difference the dedicated staff are performing at the centre given as they were extremely well behaved and all of them courteous and polite when I passed on their awards.

There was playing of recorders with many of the children performing very complex tunes and playing of drums. Each of the children who were moving to other schools reach a speech about their time at what they call ‘the Pru’ and were extremely elequant and it was clear they had put a huge amount of thought into their words.

I was extremely impressed, and it was clear that with continued hard work these children have a bright future ahead of them.
